About me
About me
I am a Cuban-American disabled artist whose relationship with art began at a very young age. Growing up, art was my source of entertainment, a place where my imagination could thrive and where I could create beyond the limitations of everyday life.
I live with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, commonly known as brittle bone disease. Throughout my life, I have experienced numerous fractures and surgeries, experiences that have profoundly shaped both who I am and the work I create. As a disabled woman, my art is deeply influenced by the realities of living in a body that is constantly changing and adapting.
Over the years, I have built an internal world inhabited by the many versions of myself that have existed throughout my life. The figures, spaces, and narratives within my work emerge from this imagined realm. What you see in my art is a reflection of that world—a world I have carefully constructed, nurtured, and come to love because it represents my experiences, my resilience, and my identity.
